Cosplay

In 2018 I had the pleasure of joining the D.C. Cosplay Photo Shoots group. Every month they have a themed photoshoot, and it’s been a great way to get some very interesting photos and meet some awesome cosplayers and photographers along the way. Here is a selection of some of my favorites. The amount of editing I do ranges from basic color grading, to retouching, to heavier photoshopping, depending on what the image and character calls for. It’s been fun trying to match the mood of the picture to that of the character.

Portraits

I guess “Portraits” heavily overlaps with my Cosplay album, since those are basically all portraits—but this is where I’ll put portraits I take that weren’t taken specifically of cosplayers.

Creative

Sometimes I’m just in a mood to try new or weird things to just see what I end up with, and sometimes I get some really cool shots out of it.

Landscape

I don’t often set out specifically to take landscape photos—but while I’m out, I’m always keeping an eye out for scenes that seem worth shooting. I don’t have much in the way of landscape shots yet, but it’s on my list of things to do.

Animals

I have a dog of my own, so you know I’ve got to sneak in some photos of him. Besides that, I love to snap photos of animals whenever I happen to have my camera on me.

Still Life

I love setting up still life scenes to practice lighting and composition. It lets me take as much time as I need to, and it doesn’t take up a lot of space.
